I was born and raised in New York City. After studying English and creative writing at SUNY New Paltz, I attended art school in San Miquel de Allende in Guanajuato Mexico. Upon returning to the States, I settled in Santa Fe where I raised two daughters as a single father while working as a carpenter and building solar adobe homes.

About Cont’d

Switching careers in my late thirties after a near death experience, I returned to school with the intention of becoming a Jungian Analyst. Now with over 22 years experience as a psychotherapist, I have developed many tools and skills for working with a broad spectrum of clients. I have worked with preschool age children, adolescents, couples, elders, people suffering from addictions, trauma, anxiety, autism, specific phobias, sexual issues, and depression. I earned a PhD in clinical psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute, and then interned and trained at the Jung Institute of Los Angeles for 8 years where I am a member analyst. I am also a member of the C.G. Jung Institute of Santa Fe and the Inter-regional Society of Jungian Analyst.

Among my areas of expertise are working with dreams, using active imagination techniques, mindfulness tools, music therapy, and cognitive behavioral techniques. I maintain private practices in Los Angeles, CA and in Santa Fe NM. I teach graduate level psychology classes and supervise interning therapists.

I have presented at conferences and to general audiences speaking on the topics of parenting, the treatment of children and adolescents, the use of music in therapy, sexuality, sexual abuse, the application of Jung’s ideas to working with children, and mindfulness meditation.

I am an emotionally engaged therapist and strive to create a safe space for the intimate work of transformation. I attune to people without judgment so that painful feelings and stubborn obstacles can turn into opportunities for increased self-acceptance and growth. I integrate complementary methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client. With compassion and understanding, I work with each individual to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing.
